چکیده

A cross-sectional study was conducted in the Department of Microbiology at tertiary care hospital Bangladesh from July 2019 to June 2020, see phenotypic and genotypic characterization Salmonella Typhi isolated human blood with distribution virulence genes sequencing. Clinically suspected enteric fever patients irrespective age gender who attended either or Medicine out-patient department (MOPD) a level for culture sensitivity test were included this study. The positive growth S. identified by gram straining, colony morphology biochemical test. Then using specific antisera. Final identification done 16s Rrna PCR. Virulence factors like hemolysin siderophore detected siderophores production assay. PCR sequencing done. total number 50 organisms as species which 40 (48.2%) isolates. Among Typhi, no produced 30 (75.0%) isolates have ability produce siderophore. all (100%) viaB staA gene, 21 (52.5%) iroB. Sequencing iroB further validation. In conclusion carried staA, responsible pathogenicity.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of Candida species isolated from candideamia in Iran

Background and Purpose: Candidemia is one of the most important fungal infections caused by Candida species. Infections and mortality caused by Candida species have been on a growing trend during the past two decades. The resistance of yeasts to antifungal drugs and their epidemiological issues have highlighted the importance of accurately distinguishing the yeasts at the species level. The tec...

Phenotypic characterization of Salmonella typhi from clinical specimens and determination of the drug susceptibility pattern of the isolates

Background and Objective: Salmonella typhi infection occurs in most endemic areas. Patients suspected of typhoid fever located in the Badda and Shantinagar localities of Dhaka were the studied population. A total of 107 blood specimens were collected. This study attempted to determine the antibiotic susceptibility pattern of Salmonella typhi among different age and gender groups having clinica...

Phenotypic and genotypic antimicrobial resistance and virulence genes of Salmonella enterica isolated from pet dogs and cats

Salmonella enterica isolates (n = 122), including 32 serotypes from 113 dogs and 9 cats, were obtained from household dogs (n = 250) and cats (n = 50) during 2012-2015. The isolates were characterized by serotyping, antimicrobial resistance phenotyping and genotyping, and virulence gene screening. Serovars Weltevreden (15.6%) and Typhimurium (13.9%) were the most common. The majority (43%) of t...

Comparative phenotypic and genotypic virulence of Salmonella strains isolated from Australian layer farms

There are over 2500 Salmonella enterica serovars that circulate globally. Of these, serovars those classified into subspecies I are the most common cause of human salmonellosis. Many subspecies I Salmonella serovars are routinely isolated from egg farm environments but are not frequently associated with causing disease in humans. In this study, virulence profiles were generated for 10 strains o...
